Some places leave a lasting impression before you even reach the main attraction. That was certainly our experience at South Stack Lighthouse, one of the most photographed landmarks in North Wales and a destination that combines dramatic coastal scenery, fascinating history and incredible wildlife watching opportunities.
Some places immediately feel like a holiday destination the moment you arrive. The sea air, the colourful shopfronts, the sound of people chatting outside cafés and the sight of a wide sandy beach stretching towards the horizon all combine to create that feeling.
Some of the best travel discoveries happen completely by chance. During a particularly warm day exploring Anglesey, we found ourselves searching for somewhere cool and comfortable to escape the heat for a few hours. That search led us to Oriel Môn, Anglesey’s museum and art gallery in the island’s county town of Llangefni.
